Basic and Professional Development Continuing Education for the Practicing Professional and DPE

All conventional ESI instruction meets the continuing education requirements as established by the Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers And Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA) Board for satisfying biannual professional education requirements for license renewal.

Virginia law requires continuing education for renewal of the professional licenses within each discipline. The Board has identified the requirement as 16 Professional Development Hours (PDH) for renewal acquired over the two year period of the license. One PDH is awarded for a one-hour period of instruction containing 50 minutes of instructor contact time. Each conventional three-hour Professional Development elective class and each three-hour Basic Program class offered by ESI accrues three PDH.
